Trainee

Krista F. Huybrechts, M.S., is a Research Fellow in the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Epidemiology at the Boston University School of Public Health.  She is also a research scientist with United BioSource Corporation’s Center for Health Economics, Epidemiology and Science Policy.  Her dissertation work focuses on the assessment of adverse outcomes associated with psychotropic medication use in elderly patients newly admitted to nursing homes, using high-dimensional propensity scores and instrumental variable methods. 

Ms. Huybrechts graduated magna cum laude with a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Antwerp, Belgium where she also worked as a researcher in health economics.  Ms. Huybrechts has over fifteen years experience in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research, with the pharmaceutical industry as well as independent research organizations.
