Andrew Rothman, BS, is a Research Assistant for the Brigham and Women’s Hospital DEcIDE Center headquartered within the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology & Pharmacoeconomics. Andrew graduated cum laude from Boston University earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. He is currently assisting on a comparative effectiveness study funded through an interagency contract between the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This study reviews the real-world effectiveness of carotid artery stenting and implantable cardioverter defibrillators for Medicare patients. Andrew is also involved in a study assessing the differences in cost of carotid artery stenting by physician specialty, as well as a study assessing the effects of gene patents on technological innovation in medicine. Andrew’s outside interests include walking the streets of Boston, building and modifying electric guitar equipment, and spending time with friends and family.
